Championships of County Dublin 3-6 June 2005

Ed Cunningham won his 5th Dublin Championship title by winning the event outright. Along the way to the final he beat Patsy Fitzgerald, James Tuttiet (Eng), Dave Nicholsan (Eng), Simon Williams, Ronan McInerney, Alan McInerney & Mark McInerney. Ed completed a sextuple against Alan in the final game to take the trophy.

In the handicap doubles, Andrew Johnston and Andrew Murphy from Newcastle won against James Tuttiet and Alice Reeves-Smith. Andrew Murphy’s handicap was cut an incredible 8 shots from 18 to 10 after he made a full break with no bisques in the final. An unlikely score of +26TP was the result to the Newcastle pair.

Overseas visitors were James Tuttiet and Dave Nicholson from England and Kevin Garrad from the Isle of Man. James played extremely well in the Open Singles, knocking out 2004 winner Andy Johnston followed by Alan McInerney.
