Irish Masters Update Rounds 3 & 4.
On a weekend where Division 1 was washed out and most of the games forced to be completed outside the assigned time, it was Division 2 where all the excitement was. Kieran Murphy had an excellent weekend keeping a 100% record for the weekend including a hard fought late comeback against Jane Shorten and two grudge match victories over Danny Johnston and Ben Reeves Smyth. Jane Shorten went on to get a good victory against Russell Harris who had won all his previous matches in the tournament. Evan Newell made steady progress with wins against Jane Shorten and Carl von Schmieder. While Murphy, Harris and Newell sit on top of Division 2 with 3 victories each the favorite, Robert Barklie, lies close behind on two with two games in hand.
The next round of the Irish Masters takes place in Carrickmines on the 19th and 20th of July (see web page for details). All outstanding matches should be completed before then and reported immediately to the manager (Andrew Johnston).
