Carrickmines had its own marathon this weekend with the Co. Dublin AC Croquet Championships.
There were 7 graded events with Carrickminers winning 5 of them, with one going overseas to a regular visitor and ex-pat Irishman David Beddy from the UK and one to Irish International Russell Harris, Newcastle Croquet Club, Co. Wicklow.
The 7 events took place over four days, opening to glorious sunshine on Friday, with play from 9.30 am each day to 7.30 pm across the four lawns. A marathon indeed. One competitor with a fondness for smart watches claimed they covered 51.5 km on the lawns.
