The annual match between the CAI and the CA selection sides was held at Carrickmines last weekend and, for the third successive time, the CA went away with the trophy. Not even the presence of its original presenter, Myles McWeeney, could get the Irish over the line and a final score of 15 - 9 left no room for argument.
The Irish Open Golf Championship was held at Carrickmines C<C on 15th & 16th Sept 2018.

On 28 th & 29th July Newbridge House hosted the Cyril Corbally Cup for the second year and also ran an Inter Club Doubles Championship. In spite of the weather, two days of croquet were enjoyed by both the players and passers-by. It was a pleasure to be playing on a lawn that was an important part of Irish Croquet History, and the toss for the the first two games played was done using Cyril Corbally's silver championship medal from 1911, kindly offered by the family.

The 2018 Home Internationals were held in a very sunny Bowden Croquet Club, south of Manchester. The Irish team comprised of Danny Johnston, Peter Moore, Jane Morrison, Home Internationals veteran Simon Williams, and finally Evan Newell who overcame injury in time for the event. Bowden is a club steeped in history and held a match in the McRoberston Shield as recently as 2010 so it was a pleasure to visit.
