The Croquet Championships of County Dublin 2017

This long standing Croquet Event was held at Carrickmines in generally fine weather over the June Bank Holiday weekend – 2 to 5 June. Around 24 players took part, slightly down on the previous year. The Championship winner was Simon Williams. Full details below.

Strokestown Club Teaches School Kids

As part of the community outreach of the Strokestown Croquet Club, the basics of golf croquet were shown to 26 primary students on a recent sunny morning. The Clooncagh National School youngsters were divided into two age groups, each of which received close to an hour of instruction and play. From simple knocks to mini-whammies, hey took to the game with gusto!

Carl Von Schmieder

It is with great sorrow that we received the news that Carl passed away suddenly last Wednesday, 24th May 2017.

There will be a service on Tuesday afternoon ( 30th May)  in the Garden Chapel, Mt. Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross at 4pm.

2018 Association Croquet World Championship

The 2018 Association Croquet World Championship (“ACWC”) will be held at the Kelburn Croquet Club in Wellington, New Zealand and other nearby venues from Saturday, 3 February to Sunday, 11 February 2018.  The Event Capacity will be 80.

Open Draw for all-comers. All ages welcome;

Lawn available for casual play all both days;

Exhibition games featuring Irish Champions past and present;

CAI vs SCA Appleton Trophy Results

The Scots were holders of the trophy, having won convincingly last year and sent a strong team to Dublin in the hope of retaining it. Their two leading players had minus handicaps.
